Mimir in Scandinavian mythology is one of the giants, famous for his knowledge. At first he lived among the Aesir, and then went to the Vanir as a hostage. Hoenir, whom the Aesir called very wise, went with him. However, this was a deception, and in fact Mimir told him everything. When the Vanir figured out the deception, they cut off Mimir's head and sent it to the Aesir. One was able to save the giant's head and consulted with her. The mythology of Mimir confirms that he was very wise, because the supreme ace addressed his head during Ragnarok.
